The principles of constructing antenna arrays (AA) and beam formers (BF) for broadband isolation increase between AA are formulated. The values of isolation levels for cosine and exponential amplitude distributions at the BFD outputs of microstrip broadband array antennas of various sizes are given. It is ascertained that the isolation level for arrays of 20λх20λ can achieve the value of not less than -100 dB within the sector of ±600 angles and within the frequency band with the overlap not less than two.

It is shown that when the antenna radius is increased, directive gain of spherical antenna with optimal excitation asymptotically approaches directive gain of the equivalent flat cophasal aperture with uniform amplitude–phase distribution of collinear currents. The results of approximate calculations are compared with the received strict solution.

Presents frequency dependencies of surface impedance near an array of rectangular waveguides when incident to flat electromagnetic wave, computed on a PC are shown. When placing radiant strips over an optimized waveguide array, contact ratio in frequency up to 2 and more in sector of angles ±55° in main planes can be obtained.

The explained method allows for building an efficient algorithm of calculating characteristics of block phased arrays intended for scanning in a limited sector of angles and normal phased arrays with elementwise phasing considering interaction of radiators in the outside space and power wiring circuits.
The given numerical results show the possibility of considering the influence of the attenuator when designing phased antenna arrays.

The results of the research of characteristics of a finite slot phased array are given. It is shown that boundary waves cause significant change of a side radiation in large arrays when the beam deviation in a single scan sector is at maximum. In small arrays these changes are related primarily to the regular part of the current, which is described by interaction of radiators in the infinite array.

When researching electrodynamical characteristics of the vibrator radiator, the charge method is used. To determine the direction diagram in the finite array, the boundary wave method is used along with the results of modeling of the infinite vibrator phased array.

Solving of the applied problems of propagation of electromagnetic waves is often connected with the search of analytic solutions to the boundary value problems of mathematical physics. From this viewpoint, the use of variable division method is one of possible ways of this search. The well-studied classic Fourier method allows division of variables in partial differential equations as applied to the boundary conditions of the simplest kind. The triangular border of the directing structure studied in this article cannot be handled by the variable division method in its classical form. In this article, the use of the generalized Fourier method of variable division has been examined as one of ways to extend the range of the applied electrodynamics problems, witch can be solved analytically. As an example, the advantage of this method over the classic method of variable division has been demonstrated for determining Е-wave family in triangular cross section waveguide while solving the internal boundary value problems with two–dimensional Helmholtz equation.

Solving of applied problems concerning different physical processes often involves search for analytic solutions to the boundary value problems of mathematical physics. From this viewpoint, the use of the variable separation method is one of possible ways of this search. The well-studied classical Fourier method allows obtaining analytic solutions to partial differential equations satisfying a limited number of kinds of boundary conditions. The internal boundary value problems for a rectangular domain, which cannot be solved by variable separation method in its classical form, are examined in this paper. Application of the generalized Fourier method of variable separation is proposed as one of means to expand the sphere of the problems of mathematical physics, which can be solved analytically. The advantage of this method, in comparison with the classic variable separation, is demonstrated for internal hybrid boundary value problems with Laplace and Helmholtz equations in flat rectangular domain.

The problem of flat wave diffraction on a multi-layer meander polarizer is solved in a strict electrodynamic setting; to approximate the required electrical current a full orthogonal system of basis functions has been proposed; for the one- and four-layer polarizer cases the algorithm and program approbation has been executed.

The properties of the radiant strips over the impedance surface of the infinite flat PAA with a small period have been concerned. If the abso-lute value of the surface impedance is higher than wave resistance of the free space, the frequency overlap ratio amounts to 2,0 and more at the angle domain of ±60° in the principal planes.
